Digitization with LILRC

We are proud to be members of The Long Island Library Resources Council. With our membership the staff at LILRC is assisting us in our goal to preserve Brightwaters History.

We were excited to preserve some of the original T.B Ackerson Construction Company maps and brochures, in preparation for our Groundbreaking Anniversary Reception this July.

LILRC provides a number of archival related services for its members.  The Digitization and Archives Coordinator provides site visits to advise and consult with institutions on increasing access to materials. As an extension of these services, they provide access to a project archivist with the Accessing Archives Program. LILRCs also provides support for digitization through our Regional Scan Center and Digitization services.  The council’s purpose is to enhance access to information, encourage resource sharing, promote innovation in libraries/historical society, and advocate for their interests.

The Long Island Library Resources Council was incorporated in 1966 and received its absolute charter in June 1971 as the Reference and Research Library Resources Council (3Rs) for Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
